On Saturday 6th May 2017, Terre Di Mezzo (TDM) 2000 Malta’s President, Duncan Muscat; Social Policy Officer, Carly Zarb; International Officer and Secretary, Sean Ellul and Pam Cann Rodgers; and Events Officer, Sarah Mifsud attended to Actors of Change, the first social policy event organised by the KNŻ – Kunsill Nazzjonali taż-Żgħażagħ supported by Hilton Malta.
During this event a number of workshops where held where people coming from different national organisations and people coming from various other countries, tackled a number of topics including: Water Scarcity, Education through Technology, Non-Formal Education, Diversity through Art and Culture, The future of Transportation, Youth Involvement in Society, Eliminating Hate Speech, Privatisation of health, Skills for Work 2025 and A Culture of Sports. Each workshop group discussed their respective topic in order to get in touch with the core issues and devised a number of policies to tackle the subject matter. The policies, ideas and initiatives were presented to the people present and were also forwarded by the KNŻ to both Local Poltical Parties for their consideration.
The Hon. Evarist Bartolo, Minister for Education and Employment, adressed the event and explained that he will be taking into consideration the forwarded reports and also encouraged the present people to continue to enhance active participation as he believes that youths are a crucial part towards change. In fact, Terra Di Mezzo 2000 Malta continually works with various stakeholders in order to promote youth activism and makes sure their voice is being heard.
